“Staffordshire Schools’ Library Service recently held the finals of the Schools’ Book Quiz, re-introduced to celebrate the 2008 National Year of Reading.

Who took part?

Four young ladies from Holy Trinity Primary School in Burton-on-Trent represented their school and after ten nail-biting rounds, were hailed the winners.


The girls proudly took away the top prize of £100 worth of books for their school library as well as book tokens to treat themselves to a new read.

How we got here

To reach the final, the team at Holy Trinity aced an initial paper round to be one of the 20 highest scoring schools in the county. They then got through their area semi-final and in the final stage they competed against four other schools Shobnall Primary School, Burton, Windsor Park Middle School, Uttoxeter, Berkswich Primary School, Stafford and Holly Grove Primary School, Burntwood. The runners up were Berkswich Primary.”
